Deltora Quest: Forest Of Silence Book Review

Deltora Quest: The Forests of Silence. Is a thrilling action packed novel By Emily Rodda. It tells the story of Lief who sets out to restore the 7 missing talismans of the belt of Deltora.

The 7 talismans where hidden in 7 different locations The Forest of Silence. The Lake of Tears. The City of Rats. The Shifting Sands, Dread Mountain. And the last Talisman was hidden in the Valley of the lost. So life goes on an adventure to find the first talisman the topaz in the forest of silence where he and his friends have to defeat he guardian of the forest to get the gem.

In secrecy, with only a hand-drawn map to guide them, Lief and Barda two companions set out on a dangerous quest. Set on finding the lost gems and rid Deltora of the Dark lord, they struggle to achieve their first goal – the untouchable Forests of Silence

The Best parts of the book Is that it fast paced and has a good story line which make the book good. But the bad parts are that how it has 2 different parts and that it can get confusing. But it also takes to long to start.

I rate this book 7/10 because it has a lot of adventure and fun and had a great story line. But what I didn’t like was how it took so long for the climax to start and how that he ending wasn’t as good as it was built up to be. Bu in total it was a good book that I would recommend from ages 8 and up because it has a couple of parts where it may be scary for younger readers.

Girl Gourmet:Cake Bakery

The Girl Gourmet cake bakery is a product that can only be described as easy and fun; it is a product worthy of attention and customers. The purpose of this product is to decorate cup cakes with the push of a button. It is directed at the range of 10 to 12 year old girls, and due to effective advertisement they have accomplished their goal of being successful for this range.

The Purpose of the Girl Gourmet: cake Bakery advertisement is to persuade the Audience range of 12 year olds Girls to buy the product by showing them, what the product does and where to buy it. The Brand is also trying to promote themselves by advertising then name and the products it makes.

The Structure and layout of cup cake bakery is a television ad which is set up in different sections. It starts off showing the product then zooms in on cupcakes then zooms out again, to the kids making the cupcakes then shows how you make the product and they do all of this so its almost like a story and done in a quick amount of time to keep the viewers attention span.

The Target Audience is for pre teens from about 10-12 year old Girls. The Features that show who the audience is directed towards are in the ad itself; in the ad it shows pre teens that are different ages from 10-12. In the ad the kids are doing various jobs like walking with the cupcakes decorating the cupcakes and even eating them.

The visual Techniques that this ad uses to make it effective are:
Setting and Colour- In the cake bakery Ad the background is white with different colour poke-dots and the kids all have brightly coloured clothing makes the Ad POP.

Body language is also a key factor, the kids all look very happy throughout the entire feature and then one of the little girls who is eating the cupcake, her face is very enthusiastic it’s almost as if it’s  the most delicious cupcake in the whole world which is selling the product in a creative way.

Making the ad change from scene to scene is also a good technique because it keeps the viewers attention wanting more so by changing the scenes you are keeping their attention on the product,

The final point is how there is a person talking, telling people about the product, The way she talks is very enthusiastic and she speaks very simple which is a very good marketing technique.

In conclusion the Girl Gourmet: cake factory  is a very successful product because not only does it attract tweens to buy it because of the great marketing with the bright colours and such ,but it also has parent bonding so the whole family can enjoy it.
